SEENET : TopologyView Information

TopologyView Main   The SeeNet TopologyView is a near “real-time” monitoring and analysis tool designed to track network traffic, bandwidth utilization, circuit up/down status and display network connectivity from an enterprise level. It allows an organization to visualize the entire corporate network and server infrastructure and provides a summary of the overall health at a glance. When potential problems are identified through this view, both users and network engineers can “drill down” to the LocalViews to obtain in-depth analysis about the branch office networks. Additionally, all servers configured under SeeNet LocalViews are displayed under this view to provide CPU usage, disk space availability, memory utilization, NIC performance, processes, Windows services, email stats, web stats, server up time, installed Operation System and Service Pack version numbers at a glance.

SeeNet TopologyView features include:

  • Corporate Network Connectivity: Displays and analyzes corporate network architecture and connectivity.
  • Network Performance Data: Tracks bandwidth utilization and circuit availability.
  • SeeNet TopologyView-to-TopologyView "Drill-down": On a large-scale network, SeeNet TopologyView allows the "drill-down" capability to other regional SeeNet TopologyViews. This architecture allows scalable corporate-wide network monitoring and situational awareness capabilities.
  • SeeNet TopologyView-to-SeeNet LocalView "Drill-down": SeeNet TopologyView allows the "drill-down" capability to SeeNet LocalViews. While the TopologyView provides an overall network connectivity and performance data, the SeeNet LocalView provides detail network performance data to include top 10 talkers/listeners/protocols/IP pairs, bandwidth utilization, circuit availability and much more. Based on the alerts provided in TopologyView, the network engineer has the flexibility to "drill-down" into LocalViews located at regional/local offices to conduct detail network analysis.
  • Router Only Configuration: TopologyView allows configuring and connecting non-TopologyView and LocalView agents accurately portray true network connectivity. Non-TopologyView and LocalView agents refer to any SNMP/RMON/RMON2 compatible network devices (i.e. routers, switches, probes etc).
  • Single Logon: The tight integration between TopologyView and LocalView allows seamless single user logon credential. When "drilling" down from TopologyView to TopologyView or TopologyView to LocalView, the user does not have to provide a new set of userid/password credentials.
  • SeeNet Management Console: The TopologyView provides interfaces to the SeeNet Management Console (SMC) to control and maintain SeeNet servers at remote locations. These interfaces include Collector, Configuration, Database, and Log Managements control views. This architecture allows the network engineers to easy administer and control SeeNet servers located remotely from a single central site.
  • Filter Options: A simple but powerful set of GUI-based filer options are available. The both the users and network engineers have the flexibility to monitor and analyze only the interested agents and their interfaces.
