The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), a government owned corporation, was established to develop and administer the pension plan termination insurance program for certain defined benefit pension plans provided by Title IV of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) of 1974. It currently protects the pensions of nearly 44 million American workers and retirees in 30,330 private, single-employer and multiemployer pension plans. The Enterprise Cybersecurity Division (ECD) mission is to coordinate the protection and security of PBGC information technology (IT) and information resources. SoftConcept will strengthen PBGC security program through the development of security processes and policy, the improved detection of threats to PBGC assets, and the implementation and oversight of security control implementation throughout the agency. SoftConcept staff of IT security professionals assist in the development of Information Security policies, guidance, procedures, and reports; support security oversight of PBGC’s security policy implementation and the compliance with PBGC’s risk management framework (RMF) and Security Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Process; conduct on-going threat detection and analysis; conduct network, database, and application vulnerability scans and perform analysis of results; and support the development of security reporting.

 

April 2017 – SoftConcept, teamed with Lunarline Inc., awarded 5 year contract to provide Information Security Services Support (ISSS) to Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC).
